ECN works to prevent property tax foreclosure, improve energy efficiency, increase financial education, and provide free income tax intake services.

Tax Foreclosure Support
We provide individual support to community members through the Homeowners Property Tax Assistance Program (HPTAP) to aid in preventing foreclosures. As part of this work, we also educate qualifying residents on the Wayne County Treasurer’s Pay-As-You-Stay Foreclosure Prevention Program.
Property Tax Appeal Program
Through this program we help residents appeal the Home Value Assessment on which their property tax bill is based.
DTE Energy Efficiency Assistance Program
We help eligible DTE participants apply for and receive energy efficient upgrades to reduce their monthly energy bills. Available upgrades include furnaces, hot water heaters, central air conditioning, vinyl windows, and insulation.
Financial Empowerment Workshops
We host regular financial workshops that connect residents with subject matter experts and highlight available financial resources.Workshop topics are selected based on needs identified in the Needs Assessments we distribute to our residents.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)
Through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, we provide taxpayers in our community with free virtual income tax filing support .
