ECN Neighborhood Sustainability Tour

Join us for happy hour and an inspiring tour of eastside Detroit's "rebirth next door" that highlights the physical and personal ways that Eastside Community Network does sustainable development. The Happy Hour and Tour is hosted by ECN's Board Chair, Charles Walker of Fair Food Network! The tour will start and end at the Chandler Park Golf Course and guests will be able to play a round of put put golf!

Rebirth can be seen in rejuvenated parks, rehabbed commercial property, and among renewed neighbors who derive leadership development and hope for the future from ECN's sustainable development programs. Each tour will take place on an air-conditioned bus and will include light refreshments. Narration will be provided by ECN President Donna Givens as well as other leaders and people who have benefited from ECN's impact in the community. Tickets are only $10 and pre-registration is required.

LEAP Sustainability Fellowship Application Deadline

Eastside Community Network (ECN) is launching the LEAP Sustainability Fellowship to support resident capacity building and community leadership in the Lower Eastside Action Plan (LEAP) communities. The fellowship will engage eight LEAP resident leaders (two from each quadrant) in a year-long training and development program. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of $200 during their participation and a $5,000 project fund that is to be used to develop a project in their quadrant or community that is consistent with LEAP Plan Recommendations. Fellows can partner together to combine their funds for the creation of a larger or more expensive project in an area of the LEAP District that they jointly agree on. The Fellowship will include training related to project identification and development.
